Feb. 28 – This week’s roster additions are another first for the Hoppers. While we have had brothers play during different years, this is the first time we have had brothers playing at the same time. And they play the same position!
Matt Keane, C/RHP, Virginia Military Institute: Coach Moss said, “Matt will provide a veteran presence and leadership for our younger guys, especially from the catching position. He has an advanced feel behind the plate and will do a tremendous job in tutoring our younger players as well as controlling the pitching staff. He will be one of the better defensive guys in the league in what I feel may be the best catching staff in the league. Matt will also pitch for us in relief; he is a mid-upper 80s arm who throws strikes and competes.” Twitter: @mattyiceee7
John Keane, C, Old Dominion University: Coach Moss said, “John is the final member of our catching staff. He comes from a program with a very rich and historical tradition. He is another defensive minded guy who will excel in helping our pitching staff with his framing and overall catching ability. He is a guy who will give us a chance to control the running game as well.” Twitter: @jkeane7
