(Hopkinsville, KY)- The Hoptown Hoppers board and coaching staff have been working hard during the off-season and are excited to begin the club’s 10th Anniversary season in the Ohio Valley League collegiate summer wooden bat league.
The Hoppers are celebrating the countdown to opening night on June 2nd, when the Hoppers host the DuBois County Bombers at Hopkinsville High School’s Tiger Field with a 6:30 pm first pitch. The Hoppers will play 19 home games this season, plus the co-hosting of the “Service One Classic” OVL doubleheader at the Bowling Green Hot Rods Ballpark on June 25th.
The Hoppers special celebrations for the countdown to opening night include two upcoming events with local businesses of Hopkinsville. The community and businesses of Hopkinsville have always been an immeasurably important part of the Hoppers, and they are excited to announce two upcoming events this week at Hopkinsville Brewing Company and Casey Jones Distillery.
Don’t miss your chance this Friday, May 27th at 6 PM to check out Hopkinsville Brewing Company’s brand-new special “Stitches” Hibiscus Wheat Ale, of which a portion of all sales will go to the Hoppers. Come on out to downtown for the opportunity to meet the Hopper’s own Coach Vaught at Hopkinsville Brewing before the season kicks off. The Hoppers would like to thank Hopkinsville Brewing Company for making them the brewery’s nonprofit of the month and for supporting the team in anticipation for opening night.
In addition to Friday’s Hopkinsville Brewing Company event, Casey Jones Distillery will be hosting a “Meet the Hoppers” event next Tuesday, May 31st at 7 PM. Casey Jones “family friendly” venue space is located at 2815 Witty Lane in Hopkinsville. This event is open to the public, including a light dinner, as well as the opportunity to see the Hoppers team officially introduced to the community. Casey Jones Distillery will be unveiling a new specially labeled Hoppers 10th Anniversary Bourbon in celebration of the Hopper’s 10th year as an Ohio Valley League team.
In addition to the Hoppers team, Kelly G Park, author of the acclaimed “Just Like Me” will be in attendance. Park has experience in interviewing 36 players from the MLB, MIIB, Negro Leagues, and All-American Girls Baseball League for his book. A portion of book sales from the event will go to Brice Long’s Back 2 Back Foundation. Come on out to meet these special guests at Casey Jones Distillery next week.
